About Me:
They call me the Rugby Rabbi because I started my journey to becoming a baal teshuva at the Maccabi Games in Israel playing rugby for South Africa. After getting semicha at Ohr Somayach in Yerushalayim, I moved with my family to Chicago to work for the Chicago Community Kollel. Then in 1985 after seeing the amazing Maimonides program at U of M, I started a campus kiruv organization. Almost 3 years later, we have students from 9 different schools and recently hired Rabbi Shalom Garfinkel.
